BUFFALO — The Canisius swimming and diving program returns to action Saturday to take on Gannon University from the Koessler Athletic Center.

The Griffs will be competing for the first time in nearly two months, with their last meet coming on Nov. 19, a sweep over Binghamton. The Griffs were victorious over the Bearcats, 155-145 on the men’s side, and won 161-139 in women’s play.

Overall, the men have won four of their six meets this season, while the women have won twice.

Divers Vivian Mroz and Travis Wright have been standouts this year, with Mroz winning MAAC Diver of the Week twice, while Wright has taken home the award on four different occasions.

Both divers have set school best marks as well. Wright broke both the one-meter (355.70) and three-meter (380.65) school records this season, while Mroz now holds both school records on the women’s side, scoring 259.80 in the one-meter and 263.70 in the three-meter.

After competing against the Golden knights this weekend, the Blue and Gold will travel to Lewiston on Jan. 21 to take on Niagara University.
