PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh shot 50 percent from long distance, outscoring visiting Buffalo State 27-9 from 3-point range en route to an 86-60 victory today in a SUNYAC battle.

Caleh McLean (New Rochelle/New Rochelle) scored a team-best 17 points to lead Buffalo State, but also committed seven turnovers. Shyasha Spencer (Geneva/Geneva) netted 15 points on 6 of 8 shooting, while Taylor Graham (Santa Rosa, CA/Maria Carrillo) added eight points and five assists.
Plattsburgh jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never let the Bengals pull even the rest of the game. Buffalo State did cut the deficit to one near the end of the first quarter, but a late 3-pointer pushed the Cardinals lead to 20-16 entering the second frame. Plattsburgh pushed the margin to 45-31 at halftime and extended the lead to as many as 31 in the second half. In addition to being efficient beyond the arc, Plattsburgh’s bench outscored the Bengals’ reserves, 27-11.
