BOSTON — No. 10 Buffalo State played its first game in 27 days and overcame a slow start to race to a 6-2 victory over Becker tonight in the opening game of the Boston Landing Collegiate Invitational.

Anthony Beaumont (Lester, PA/Interboro), Zach Remers (Clarence, NY/Canisius), Jake Rosen (E. Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) and Anthony Passero (Fort Erie, ON/Lakeshore) tallied a goal and an assist apiece to lead the Bengals. Taylor Pryce (Newmarket, ON/Cardinal Carter) and Jonathan Hall (Greenfield, IN/Connections Acad.) also scored, and Ben Butcher (Bellingham, WA/Langley) had a pair of assists. Becker opened the scoring midway through the opening period, but Buffalo State would score the game’s next six goals.  Beaumont netted his fourth of the year to even the game before the first intermission.

Remers, Hall and Rosen added second-period goals, before Passero’s sixth and Pryce’s seventh pushed it to 6-1 early in the final frame. Becker completed the scoring with a shorthanded marker.
Mike DeLaVergne (Pawling, NY/Pawling) needed to make just 14 saves for the win as the Bengals outshot the Hawks 51-16.
