POTSDAM — Lovell Smith (Buffalo/McKinley) became the 22nd player in Buffalo State history to score 1,000 career points as the Bengals cruised past host Potsdam, 91-62, tonight in a SUNYAC contest.

Jordan Glover (Buffalo/St. Joe’s) led the Bengals with 22 points to go with four steals. Smith netted 17 points to bring his career total to 1,003.  He also produced five steals. Dom Grayer (Brooklyn/Bishop Loughlin) added 15 points, and Nico McLean (Buffalo/Amherst) scored 13.
Twelve players scored for the Bengals in all. Buffalo State hit a pair of 3-pointers to open the game and led wire-to-wire. The Bengals pushed the lead to 50-28 by halftime, and continued to pull away in the second half. The Bengals shot 46 percent from the field and 37 percent from 3-point range, outscoring the Bears 33-15 from beyond the arc. Buffalo State also converted 31 Potsdam turnovers into 38 points, and held a 14-4 advantage in fast break scoring.
