PLATTSBURGH — Buffalo State overcame a 10-point deficit, scoring 61 second-half points to pull away for a 110-93 victory over host Plattsburgh today in a SUNYAC contest.

Lovell Smith (Buffalo/McKinley) led five Buffalo State players scoring in double figures, netting 24 points and added eight rebounds. Nico McLean (Buffalo/Amherst) added 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Jordan Glover (Buffalo/St. Joe’s) scored 17 points to go with six steals.
J.O. Spence (Brooklyn/Bayard Rustin) and Dom Grayer (Brooklyn/Bishop Loughlin) chipped in 13 and 11 points respectively. Twelve players scored for the Bengals in all. Buffalo State hit a pair of 3-pointers to open the game and led wire-to-wire.  The Bengals pushed the lead to 50-28 by halftime, and continued to pull away in the second half.

The Bengals shot 46 percent from the field and 37 percent from 3-point range, outscoring the Bears 33-15 from beyond the arc. Buffalo State also converted 31 Potsdam turnovers into 38 points, and held a 14-4 advantage in fast break scoring. Plattsburgh made late push in the first half to take a 55-49 lead into the intermission. The Cardinals quickly pushed the lead to 10 in the first minute of the second half, but Buffalo State outscored the Cardinals 61-34 the rest of the way. Plattsburgh could not handle Buffalo State’s pressure as the Bengals converted 26 Cardinal turnovers into 45 points.
The Bengals continued to shoot well from long range, connected on 42 percent of its 3-point shots (11 of 26).
