NEW YORK — Justin Bailey scored his first NHL goal 1:03 into the second period, en route to a 4-1 Buffalo Sabres victory over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

The Sabres led 2-0 at the time of Bailey’s goal. The first two were scored by Zemgus Girgensons — at 12:17 of the first period, and Evander Kane at 19:21. Jack Eichel also scored for Buffalo, 1:10 into the third period.

The Rangers goal came from Nick Holden at 15:55 of the second period.

The Sabres next play the Chicago Blackhawks in Chicago on Thursday.
