HUME — A 29-year-old Cheektowaga man was charged Monday with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on State Route 19.

According to New York State Police, Troopers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. A second vehicle, driven by Benjamin M. Philipps, also stopped and had been traveling with the vehicle that had been pulled over. When Troopers spoke with Philipps, they determined him to be intoxicated. A blood alchohol test showed he had a .15 percent blood alcohol content.

Philipps was released on tickets and is scheduled to appear before the Town of Hume Court on Thursday.
