SCIO — A 21-year-old Allegany man was charged Monday with driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop on County Road 31.
According to New York State Police, Damon L. Hirliman was driving on County Road 31 when he drifted into the oncoming lane of traffic and into the path of a State Police vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted and Hirliman was determined to be intoxicated and charged with DWI. He was transported to SP Amity where he recorded a 0.15 percent blood alcohol content.
He was released on tickets and is scheduled to appear before the Town of Scio Court on Jan. 10.
