BUFFALO — The University at Buffalo women’s basketball team (9-0, 0-0 MAC) puts their unblemished record on the line on Thursday afternoon as they head to Fordham to take on the Rams in the opening round of the Fordham Holiday Classic.

The winner of Thursday’s game between the Bulls and the Rams will play the winner of the UNC Asheville vs. Harvard game on Friday at 2:30 pm at Rose Hill Gym. The losers of the two games will play at noon on Friday.

After heading into the Christmas break on a high note with a 9-0 start to the season, the UB women’s basketball team will return to the court after an eight-day hiatus as they head to the Fordham Holiday Classic for a pair of games. The Bulls will take on the host Fordham Rams on Thursday at noon before playing either UNC Asheville or Harvard on Friday afternoon. The Bulls will be aiming for their first-ever unbeaten non-conference season in program history.

The Bulls were able to head into Christmas break with a win on Wednesday as they earned the Big 4 sweep with a 68-47 win over St. Bonaventure at Alumni Arena. Buffalo saw three players score in double figures as Cassie Oursler led the way with 12 points and five rebounds while JoAnna Smith finished with 11 points and five rebounds and Stephanie Reid had 10 points, eight assists, three rebounds and three steals. The Bulls had a huge advantage on the offensive glass as they snagged 13 offensive rebounds that led to 19 second chance points while the Bonnies had three offensive rebounds and zero second chance points.
