GREECE — Chick-fil-A is looking to open its first Western New York location on West Ridge Road.

The fast food chain has applied for a special use permit necessary for construction of the restaurant on the north side of the road across from The Mall at Greece Ridge, which would make it the closest location to just about anyone in the Western New York area, except those in the southern tier, where a current Erie, Pa. location is within a short drive.

The fast food restaurant, famous for its chicken sandwiches and unique advertising campaign, is based in Georgia.

A public hearing on the special use permit is slated for Jan. 17.
