The University at Buffalo Women’s Rowing program will host a junior day on Saturday, February 18, 2017. The day is geared toward high school juniors (current high school students Class of 2018). The day will include a campus tour, a tour of the athletic facilities in and around Alumni Arena, a drive to and through the South Campus, and a meet and greet with the coaching staff, student-athletes and athletic department staff.

The purpose of this event is to provide you with an inside look at not only the rowing program here at UB, but also into the academic opportunities, campus life and more! Coaches and team members will be on hand to answer any questions you might have. You will also get firsthand information from our strength trainers, nutritionists, support services and more!

Schedule:

  • 11:00 a.m. – Arrive at Alumni Arena; general introduction and program description
  • 11:30 a.m. – Presentations from Erik Silis, Director of Compliance on NCAA Eligibility Center & Academic Services
  • Noon – Tour of Alumnni Arena, meet with Geno Buono, UB Rowing’s Strength & Conditioning Coach; walk through state of the art Smolinksi Family Medicine Center in UB Stadium
  • 12:45 – 1:15 p.m. – Lunch Break (you can bring your own or check out the Student Union or Commons)
  • 1:15 p.m. – Campus Tour with Admissions & Presentation from Admissions Staff
  • 2:30 p.m. – Tour South Campus/Amherst Veterans Canal Park, UB Boathouse
  • 3:00 p.m. – Meet & Greet with coaches and athletes in Alumni Arena
  • 3:30 p.m. – Men’s Basketball Game vs. Miami (OH) in Alumni Arena

Those that arrive early Saturday morning are welcome to watch a team practice in the morning before the day gets started. Details will be provided upon RSVP with regards to location and time.
