MIAMI, Fla.—Buffalo State finished the Hoop MIA D3 Holiday Shootout with a pair of victories, defeating Alvernia today, 72-65, behind a double-double by Lovell Smith (Buffalo/McKinley) who had 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Jordan Glover (Buffalo/St. Joe’s) netted 13 points to go with four assists to support the Bengals’ attack. Mike Henry (Syracuse/West Genesee) added 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Dom Grayer (Brooklyn/Bishop Loughlin) also tallied 11 points. The Bengals battled back and reclaimed the lead just before halftime at 38-36.  Buffalo State trailed by one briefly early in the second half, but never fell behind again.

Buffalo State will break for the holidays before returning to action with SUNYAC play at Potsdam on Jan. 6.
