BOSTON — New York State Police are investigating a crash on Boston State Road that left a 63-year-old Derby woman dead and sent an unnamed 19-year-old person to Erie County Medical Center.
According to police, Troopers responded to the two-vehicle head-on crash around 5 p.m.on Boston State Road near Chestnut Ridge Road. They found that a 2007 Toyota Prius traveling south bound on Boston State Road and a 2008 Ford Explorer traveling north bound struck each other head on.
The operator of the Toyota, Peachy J. Schrockk, 63 of Derby, was taken to Mercy Ambulatory Care Center were she was pronounced deceased. The 19 year old operator of the Ford was taken to Erie County Medical Center for minor injuries.
NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit is on scene and the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
