ANGELICA — New York State Police arrested a 31-year-old Angelica man on Friday, charging him with aggravated driving while intoxicated following a crash.

According to police, Troopers investigating an erratic operator complaint located a vehicle operated by Anthony R. Shelton that had left a parking lot and struck a tree in the Village of Angelica. Shelton refused field sobriety tests but was nonetheless charged with DWI and taken to the Amity Troopers’ barracks, where he was then found to have a .19 percent blood alcohol content.

Shelton was arraigned before the Town of Friendship Court and was remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash/$10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear before the Village of Angelica Court at a later date.
