The Bills opened up the scoring with a 21-yard field goal by Dan Carpenter. The Browns tied it at 3 with a field goal of their own. Buffalo replied with a 74-yard drive, culminated in a Mike Gillislee touchdown to put the Bills up 10-3 at the end of one.
The Bills made it 17-3 towards the end of the second quarter with a 19-yard touchdown reception by Charles Clay in the end zone.
Cleveland cut the lead to 7 in the third quarter with an 80-yard drive capped off by an 18-yard scramble by Robert Griffin III. The Bills responded immediately with a LeSean McCoy touchdown set up by a 28-yard run by Tyrod Taylor. Cleveland responded with another field goal to cut the lead to 11.
In the fourth quarter, McCoy added another touchdown run to put Buffalo up 30-13. Dan Carpenter missed his fifth extra point of the season on the attempt. He then added a field goal about half way through the quarter to put Buffalo up 33-13.
All of McCoy’s running on the day put him over 1,000 yards for the season and gave the Bills their most rushing touchdowns ever — at 27 — breaking the record set in 1975. Taylor’s running also gives him the second most rushing yards for a quarterback in team history.
Next week the Bills will host Miami at 1 p.m. Christmas Eve.
