JAMESTOWN — Jamestown police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon at E. 8th Street and Prendergast Avenue.

Police say a male victim was shot several times as he was walking along Prendergast Avenue at the intersection of E. 8th Street at approximately 2:14 p.m. Witnesses at the scene state that a blue sedan drove up to the intersection where an occupant then fired upon the victim. The suspect vehicle then reportedly drove away east on E. 8th Street.

The victim, who police have not identified, is currently being treated for multiple gun shot wounds at an area hospital. His condition is not known.
