BROCKPORT — Buffalo State scored three third-period goals to pull away from host Brockport for a 4-1 victory this evening in a SUNYAC contest at Tuttle North Ice Arena.

Mac Wood (Simcoe, ON/SCS) scored a pair of goals for the second-consecutive game, giving him six on the season. Zach Nieminen (Ajax, ON/Notre Dame CSS) and Anthony Beaumont (Lester, PA/Interboro) added a goal and an assist apiece. Wood opened the scoring with the only goal of the opening period, and Brockport scored midway through the middle frame, setting up the winner-take-all final stanza. Wood’s second of the game with just under seven minutes remaining proved to be the game winner. Nieminen added an insurance marker with 1:20 left, and Beaumont sealed it with an empty-netter in the final minutes. The Bengals finished with a 26-23 edge in shots, as Mike DeLaVergne (Pawling, NY/Pawling) made 22 stops for the win between the pipes.
