WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Brian Higgins, D-Buffalo, sent a letter to House Democratic leadership on Wednesday, urging them to help ensure the nation’s cancer centers are not harmed with the adoption of “site neutral payment policies.”

The letter, which notes that Roswell Cancer Institute is in Higgins’ district, goes on to push that the issue be resolved before the end of 2016.

Site neutral payment policies claim dedicated practice centers and physicians practices offer the same treatments and get the same outcomes. The policy then says that cancer treatment centers should be paid at the same rate as physicians practices.
