JAMESTOWN — Keith Robbins, who has been sought by Jamestown police for several days following a shooting incident on Thursday, was taken into custody early this morning.

The Jamestown Police Department says it responded to the area of 2 Todd Ave. around 11:30 p.m. Monday on a tip that Robbins was reportedly at that location.

“Officers arrived at the location and did start to check the residence with the assistance of the Jamestown Police K-9 Unit. Inside the residence the Police k-9 “Mitchell” did confront the suspect and the suspect did then stab the K-9 animal with a knife,” Jamestown PD said. “The suspect did then barricade himself inside the residence for over six hours before being taken into custody just before 6 a.m. this morning.”

Robbins was transported to WCA Hospital where he is being treated for a self-inflicted knife wound.

K-9 animal “Mitchell” underwent emergency surgery this morning and is expected to make a full recovery.

Charges against Robbins for the murder of Shari Robbins and the assault of the K-9 animal “Mitchell” are pending.
