TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 49-year-old Lockport woman was charged Monday with driving while ability impaired by drugs, unsafe tire and unlicensed operation.
Troopers were dispatched to a report of erratic operation by a black Mitsubishi passenger vehicle traveling northbound on South Transit Road in the Town of Lockport. The vehicle was located on Old Beattie Ave and Collins Street. The investigation revealed operator Rachel Ramirez showed signs that her ability to drive was impaired by drugs. Ramirez was placed under arrest after she failed field sobriety tests and transported to SP Lockport where she was administered a drug recognition evaluation. The evaluation determined Ramirez was impaired by a narcotic analgesic.
Ramirez was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Lockport Court where she is scheduled to appear at a later date.
