U.S. Rep Chris Collins, the first member of Congress to endorse Donald Trump’s presidential prospects and one of his most ardent supporters won re-election with 67.7 percent of the vote, compared with 32.3 percent for his Democratic Opponent, Diana Kastenbaum.

Collins easily carried all eight counties in the election district, including Kastenbaum’s home, Genesee County, where he took 72 percent of the vote.

It’s possible, however, that despite the easy win, Collins won’t serve another term in the house as there had been speculation that Collins would be offered a Cabinet position in a theoretical Trump White House. Talk of such events quited down mid-summer when Trump’s chances of victory looked grim, but his victory over Clinton is sure to reinvigorate speculation.
