Robert E. Wray of Saranac Lake, NY  and Springhill, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 7, 2016. He was born in Buffalo, NY, on January 4, 1934, the son of the late Austin and Viola [Seefert] Wray.

Mr. Wray graduated from Wilson High School and GMI. He served with the Marines during the Korean War. Mr. Wray was an engineer with the Harrison Radiator in Lockport, NY for 34 years, before retiring in 1988. He was the original owner of Snowflake Ski Shop in Lockport for many years, which is still operated by his family. Mr. Wray will be most remembered for his story-telling and humor. He was an avid woodworker, skier, golfer and loved spending his summers on Upper Saranac Lake and winters at Timberpines, FL.

He was the husband of 48 years to the late Ruth H. [Pokelwaldt] Wray, who died in September of 2004. Mr. Wray leaves behind his devoted children Bonnie J. (George) Weidert, Terry L. Wray, Susan R. (Chris) Thompson and Robert (Catherine) Wray, nine grandchildren Tracy, Karen, Sarah, Sita, Jacob, Emma, Samuel, Dylan and Sean and  four great grandchildren Everett, Sienna, Sydney and Henry.

His family will be present on Friday from 1-4 & 6-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Rd., Sanborn, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Hope United Methodist Church, 2914 Upper Mountain Rd., Pekin, NY, with the Rev. Matthew Kofhal officiating.
