BUFFALO — Alyssa Greymont (Morgan Hill, CA/Flex Academy) and Connor Mergler (E. Amherst/Williamsville North) each had a record-setting day as Buffalo State cruised past Pitt-Bradford in a dual meet today at Kissinger Pool.  The women won 134.5-58.5, and the men prevailed 168-122.

 In her third meet as a Bengal, Greymont bettered her own school and pool records in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:52.55.  She also set the Kissinger Pool mark in the 400 IM with a winning time of 4:56.67.

Mergler set the pool record in the 100 back on the opening leg of the 400 medley relay (53.62), and he also one the 100 back later in the meet in 54.50 seconds.  He added a win in the 50 free, clocking 21.28 seconds.

Dan Kuznetsov (Williamsville/Williamsville South) was also a double-winner for the Bengals, touching first in the 200 free (1:53.41) and 500 free (5:08.15). Winners for the Bengals’ women in other contested events included Michelle Viera (Smithtown/Smithtown West) in the 200 free (2:18.64), Kelly Lindner (W. Seneca/W. Seneca West) in the 50 free (28.85), Asiah Abdula (Lakeview/Frontier) in the 100 free (1:06.23), and Bri Chehovich (Auburn/Auburn) in the 200 breast (2:49.51), while Cody Wittmeyer (Boston/Hamburg) added a first-place finish for the men in the 100 free (50.26). Emma Leonard (Horseheads/Horseheads), Chehovich, Greymont and Viera captured the 400 medley relay (4:40.98), and Grace Bolton (Grand Island/Grand Island), Abdulla, Chehovich and Leonard won the 400 free relay (4:26.75). Kuznetsov, Wittmeyer, Ryan McHale (Lancaster/Lancaster) and Mergler claimed the men’s 400 free relay in 3:22.71.

Buffalo State will next visit Cortland for a dual meet on Nov. 19.
