BUFFALO — Freshman Gretta Dry of the Canisius College women’s soccer team was named to the All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Rookie Team, as announced by the conference office on Thursday evening.

Dry would also add an assist in the Griff’s two MAAC wins and they would move to 3-1 in the conference for the first time since 2011 and only the third time in program history.

Earlier this week, Dry was chosen for her third award of the season as she garnered MAAC Rookie of the Week credits for the second time for the week of Oct. 24-31. In Canisius’ 1-0 win versus Siena on Oct. 26, Dry scored in the 54th minute, her eighth of the year. The win helped the Griffs secure a MAAC Playoff berth, their first appearance in the conference’s post-season since 2014. Also, with the win, the Blue and Gold finished finished with eight victories, its most sine 2011 when Canisius finished 8-7-4.

Among the conference statistics leaders, Dry finished fifth in both points (20) and goals (8), and first in game-winning goals (4).
