BUFFALO — The women’s swimming and diving team are in Buffalo this weekend as they take on the Akron Zips at 5 p.m. Friday in the Alumni Arena Natatorium. The men will be partaking in an intrasquad scrimmage.
The women have shown a lot of success in the last two meets, dominating in the opening meet against Cornell. The women placed first in ten different events and first through third in both the one- and three-meter dives. Most recently, the Bulls traveled to Pittsburgh. They hadn’t scored as well as they had hoped, but they still saw some success.
Megan Burns was an impressive force in the pool, placing first in three individual events (50 Free, 100 Free, and 200 Free) and second in the 200 Medley Relay alongside teammates Julia Box, Anna Vitolins, and Sarah Baxter. Box also placed first in multiple events: 200 Fly and 100 Fly. Baxter helped pace the Bulls to a second place finish in the 400 Free Relay; with her were teammates Eve Kosten, Katelyn Burns, and Catherine Schultheis.
The Bulls performed well in the diving well against Cornell, taking first through third on both the one- and three-meter dives. At Pittsburgh, Abbey Croce shone for the Bulls, taking second on the both the one- and three-meter dives.
