NEW YORK—Buffalo State saw its season come to a close today at the New York Region Challenge, dropping straight-set matches to Montclair State and host NYU.
Against Montclair State, Buffalo State managed just 16 kills with 24 hitting errors in the match. Riley Chapman (Orchard Park/Orchard Park), Lauren Hansen (Blue Point/Bayport Blue Point) and Eimile O’Brien (Marietta/Marcellus) had four kills apiece for the Bengals. Katherine Marte (Ithaca/Ithaca) recorded 13 assists.
Buffalo State improved its net play in the late match with 27 kills and four blocks. Hansen led the way with 11 kills, while Bryanna Fisher (Brooklyn/Midwood) had a pair of blocks. Marte finished with 21 assists. Hanna Cormier (Ft. Edward/Warhill) had 11 digs, while Chapman and Hansen each had 10.
