CORTLAND — Lauren Hansen (Blue Point/Bayport Blue Point) led the Bengals offense with 14 kills, but it was not enough as Buffalo State dropped a four-set decision to New Paltz in a SUNYAC match tonight hosted by SUNY Cortland.

New Paltz claimed the first two sets (25-18 and 25-15) before the Bengals extended the match with a 25-23 win in the third set.  The Hawks closed the match out with a 25-15 win in the fourth set. Riley Chapman (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) had eight kills and 15 digs for the Bengals. Katherine Marte (Ithaca/Ithaca) added 34 assists and 11 digs. Victoria Rigler (Amherst/Sweet Home) finished with 21 digs.

Buffalo State will close out its SUNYAC season Saturday against Geneseo at 10 a.m. and Plattsburgh at 12:30 p.m.
