The Niagara men’s and women’s tennis programs will compete in their respective USTA/ITA Northeast Regional Tournaments from Oct. 20-25. The men’s tournament will be held at the University of Penn and the women’s tournament will be at Yale University.
Three Purple Eagles were selected on the men’s side – Felipe Fuentes, Josh Wilson and Taylan Ozdemir. Taylan Ozdemir plays in the single qualifying round Thursday. The doubles team of Josh Wilson and Felipe Fuentes will compete in the main draw against a team from Farleigh Dickinson.
Fuentes faces Boston’s Bombanatti in the singles first round on Friday.
Three Purple Eagles were selected on the women’s side – Stella Peisakhova, Shannon Wong and Sharlee Deshmukh. Peisakhova will play in the singles draw while the team of Wong and Deshmukh is in the doubles draw.
