Niana M. Reineke passed Oct. 18, 2016 after a long illness. Born Sept. 8 1934 in Springfield, IL, she was the daughter of Ronald and Velma Garlitt.

On Nov.15,1957 she married the late Lt. Col. James Reineke and has been with her life companion William Walker since 1986. Niana was a ballerina for the Chicago Dance Co. in the early 50’s and taught dance out of her home in WY. The family moved to WNY in 1972. She loved bowling, gardening, camping, crocheting, ceramics, her beloved cats, and, in recent years knitting. Parties and holidays at her home always had enough food to feed the neighborhood.

In addition to William, Niana is survived by two sons, James and Mark (Donna) both of Lockport; and predeceased by son Jack. Also survived by 7 grandchildren James (Brianna) of Dallas, TX, Nicole (Arthur) Sherry of Houston, TX, Heather (Adam) Irr of Seattle, WA, Jonathan, of Newfane, Melissa of Houston, TX, Jordan, Joshua and great grandson Gavin all of Newfane.

Relatives and friends may call FRIDAY 3-7 PM at Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc. 2670 Main St., Newfane where funeral services will be held at 11AM on SATURDAY. Interment will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, and if desired memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
