Women’s soccer player Catherine Mammoser (Eden/Eden) was named the SUNYAC’s Offensive Player of the Week after helping the nationally-ranked Bengals extend their winning streak to nine games.

The senior criminal justice major had two goals and an assist this past week as Buffalo State guaranteed a first-round bye in the SUNYAC playoffs.  Mammoser scored the first goal of the game in a 2-0 win at Plattsburgh on Friday, and had a goal and an assist in a 3-1 victory at Potsdam on Saturday.

With the wins, Buffalo State remains a perfect 7-0 in conference play.  The Bengals haven’t dropped a regular-season match to a SUNYAC opponent since November 5, 2014.

Mammoser has five goals and four assists in 15 games played this season.  She is second on the team in scoring with 14 points and was also named this week’s Buffalo State Athlete of the Week.

Buffalo State (12-1-2/7-0-0) will clinch the top seed in the conference with a win in either of its final two regular season games this weekend.  The Bengals will host Oneonta on Friday at 3 p.m. and will welcome New Paltz on Saturday at 4 p.m.
