NIAGARA UNIV. — The Purple Eagles close out a two-game home stand, hosting Fairfield on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Niagara will honor its graduating seniors prior to the start of the game.
Laura Ortiz leads the Purple Eagles with five goals, 24 shots and 16 shots on goal. Ortiz’s five goals are tied for seventh-most in the MAAC. Eva Bachmann leads the team in assists with two. Both of her goals on the season so far are game-winners, which ties her for fourth-most game-winning goals in the conference. Goalkeeper Shania van Nuland (1-7-1) is tied for fourth-most shutouts with two. She also has 34 saves.
The Purple Eagles play their last road game at Iona on Oct. 22 at 1:00 p.m. Niagara closes out the regular season on Oct. 26 at 3:00 p.m. when it hosts Marist.
