The Canisius College women’s soccer team will return home to face the Iona Gaels on Saturday, for Senior Day. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

Canisius have dropped its last two games, at Quinnipiac and at Marist. Freshman goalkeeper Alana Rossi has a 295:55 minute scoreless streak in her last four home games. Freshman forward Gretta Dry picked up another goal versus Marist. She now has 16 points, six goals and four assists on the season, all of which lead the team.

Midfielder Hannah Chesney (as of 10/14): 61 career games played, 35 career starts. Career statistics: Two points and two assists. Majoring in International Business. Midfielder Sabrina Fitzgerald (as of 10/14): 54 career games played, 37 career starts. Career statistics: 23 points, nine goals and five assists. Majoring in Chemistry Health Professional Track. Back Callie Good (as of 10/14): 67 career games played, 61 career starts. Career statistics: six points, four assists and one goal. Majoring in Finance. Goalkeeper/back Kathleen Lawver (as of 10/14): 42 career games played, nine career starts. Career statistics: nine points, three goals and three assists. Majoring in Digital Media Arts.

The weekend clash will be the 28th time the teams have squared off. The Griffs are 13-12-2 lifetime against Iona with the edge coming in a 1-0 victory at the Gaels last season. In that game, Emily Czechowski scored the deciding goal in the 83rd minute, the first of her career. Canisius was on the wining side when the teams first met in 1991, recording a 3-0 win. The teams have faced off twice in the MAAC tournament with Canisius losing 4-1 in the quarterfinals and winning 5-1 in the first round of the 2001 tournament.

Iona is 1-11-2 on the season, holding a 1-4-1 conference record and a 1-6-1 record on the road this year. Freshman midfielder Amber Crispin leads the team in points (8) and is tied for goals and assists with three and two, respectively. The Gaels lone win came eight games into the season on Sept. 24 courtesy of a 2-0 victory at Saint Peter’s. Iona has also tied with Yale and Marist.
