BUFFALO — Buffalo State scored three second-half goals, two by forward Melissa Smith (N. Tonawanda/Niagara Wheatfield), to down Fredonia, 3-0 to remain perfect in SUNYAC play at Coyer Field on Saturday.

Despite controlling possession for most of the first 45 minutes, Buffalo State found itself tied 0-0 heading into half-time. Just four minutes later, Smith struck again, putting home a perfect cross from Catherine Mammoser(Lackawanna/Eden) to make it 2-0, Buffalo State.

Lindsay Mahoney (Port Jefferson/St. John the Baptist) put the final nail in the coffin of Fredonia in the 73rdminute with her first goal of the season, knocking in a header off a Breanna Knight (Valley Stream/Valley Stream South) cross to make it 3-0.
