Buffalo State’s Melissa Smith (N. Tonawanda/Niagara Wheatfield) was named the SUNYAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second-consecutive week after leading the Bengals to a 3-0 victory over Fredonia on Saturday.
The senior early childhood education major scored a pair of goals as the Bengals cruised past the Blue Devils in a “Battle by the Lake” competition. Smith leads the Bengals with seven goals and 17 points in 10 games, including scoring five times in the past five games.
Buffalo State is a perfect 3-0 in SUNYAC play and is 7-1-2 overall. The Bengals will host Allegheny tomorrow in a non-conference game at 4 p.m.
