WASHINGTON, Pa.—Freshman Kevin Murnock (East Aurora/East Aurora) continued making strides in his rookie season, placing ninth of 85 runners, helping Buffalo State place fifth of 10 teams today at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational.
Murnock led the Bengals, racing across the 8K course in a time of 29:07. Phil Giuga (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) was next to finish for the Bengals, placing 15th in 29:48. Benaleo Daniels (Binghamton/Binghamton) had a strong finish in 33rd (31:12). Brandon Shaffer (Williamsville/Williamsville South) and Greg Avila-Shah (Lewiston/Lewiston-Porter) completed the scoring for Buffalo State, placing 39th (31:30) and 45th (32:14) respectively.
Buffalo State will take a week off before getting a final pre-SUNYAC Championship tune-up at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on Oct. 15.
