SPRINGVILLE — The Niagara men’s golf team competed in the Little 3 Championship with Canisius and St. Bonaventure on Wednesday. The Purple Eagles had a two-round team score of 793 (+83) and finished in third place.

Daniel Weimer led Niagara, firing a 75 (+4) in round one and a 73 (+2) in round two. He finished in fifth place overall.

Christian Nizamis finished second for the Purple Eagles, carding a total score of 151 (+9). He finished tied for seventh place.

Nicco Gentile and Wilson Lockwood finished 14th and 18th, respectively. Gentile shaved an impressive 10 strokes off his round one score of 86 (+15), shooting a 76 (+5) in round two for a total score of 162 (+20). Lockwood finished with a total score of 167 (+25).

Matt Lesinski and Ryan Mihok rounded out the Niagara group. Both carded a total score of 168 (+26) to finish tied for 19th place.

The team closes out the fall season at the Binghamton Invitational on this weekend.
