NIAGARA FALLS — A 32-year-old Niagara Falls woman was charged earlier today following an investigation conducted by Niagara County Department of Social Services and the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Welfare Fraud Unit.

According to Niagara County Sheriff Jim Voutour, Monica L. Williams was charged with petit larceny and second-degree offering a false instrument for filing after receiving approximately $800 in benefits she was not entitled to.

Williams was released on appearance tickets and ordered to appear in Niagara Falls City Court on Monday.
