The Canisius College volleyball team will open home play this weekend when they take on MAAC opponents Saint Peter’s and Rider from the Koessler Athletic Center. The Griffs will host Saint Peter’s Saturday afternoon before squaring off against Rider on Sunday. Both matches are slated for 1 p.m. start times. Canisius finished the non-conference season with a 2-7 mark, before losing its first two conference matches this past weekend. The Griffs had a promising first weekend going 2-1 and completing the season-opening tournament with a better-than-.500 record for the first time since 2008.
