SHERMAN — A 36-year-old Sherman man was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Clymer-Sherman Road.

According to New York State Police, Sunendra Persaud was stopped for a traffic violation. While speaking to Persaud, the Trooper smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle and Persaud surrendered a bag containing fifteen grams of marijuana upon questioning.  Persaud was placed under arrest and he and his vehicle were searched, producing no additional evidence.

Persaud was issued a traffic ticket and appearance ticket and released, to appear in the Town of Sherman Court on a later date.
