On the men’s side, freshman Donovan Glavin and senior Brennan Root led the way for the Blue and Gold, finishing seventh and eighth overall respectively. Glavin posted a time of 25:39.1, while Root was close behind with a time of 25:39.1.
Siobhan Quinn was the fastest runner on the women’s team for the second-straight meet, placing eighth overall and coming in with a time of 18:00.4. Carlin Sullivan was the second-fastest entrant with a time of 18:34.5 and a 19th-place showing.
As a team the Blue and Gold the men’s squad finished fifth overall with a team score of 122. St. Louis took top honors with 52 points, with Notre Dame (67), Dayton (77) and Marquette (103) rounding out the top-5. Ben Kendell of Detroit won the race with a time of 25:06.8.
On the women’s side the squad posted a team score of 163 points for seventh overall. Notre Dame was first with a team score of 31, while Marquette (73), Dayton (96), St. Louis (125), Loyola (144) and Xavier (155) rounded out the top-seven teams. Notre Dame’s Annie Heffernan took top honors in the race with a time of 17:22.1.
The squads also competed at Buffalo’s Stamped held in Amherst. Austin Oetinger was the top Canisius runner on the men’s side, placing 58th with a time of 25:49.8. On the women’s side Taylor Marion’s time of 28:02.2 was tops on the team.
The men’s team placed seventh with 218 team points while the women’s team didn’t run enough athletes to qualify for team scoring.
The Griffs will next compete on Oct. 1 as the two teams compete at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh.
