TOWN OF LOCKPORT — The Transit Drive-In Theatre raised $3,500 over the past three days for the Alzheimer’s Association WNY in tribute to Gene Wilder, who died a week ago today from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.

And they’re not done yet. The tribute weekend continues tonight with a double-feature showing of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory with Blazing Saddles.

Drive-in owner Rick Cohen suggested to the theater’s Facebook fans that those who are unable to attend the drive-in may consider another way to contribute:

The Buffalo Walk to End Alzheimer’s takes place in Delaware Park on Saturday, September 17. Other local walks take place in Olean on September 10, Batavia on September 24, Dunkirk on October 1, Lewiston on October 15, and Warsaw on October 22. Please consider joining one of these walks, and help in the fight to end Alzheimer’s Disease. Thank you!

After tonight, the Transit Drive-In Theatre begins weekend-only operations through the conclusion of the season.
