BUFFALO — A 39-year-old Buffalo man has been sentenced to 26 years in prison for two separate criminal acts that took place within weeks of each other.

According to Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr.,on April 29, 2015, Sandro Tirado entered the home of a Buffalo woman and tried to shoot the woman’s boyfriend, but the gun did not fire.

When the woman tried to defend her boyfriend, Tirado shot her in the right arm and then in the face — all while her four-year-old daughter watched. The female victim survived the shooting, but still has a .22 caliber bullet lodged next to her spine.

A few weeks earlier, Buffalo Narcotics Detectives raided the defendant’s room and found cocaine. They also spotted Tirado throwing a .40 caliber pistol from the second floor window
