BUFFALO — A 16-year-old from Reed Street was sentenced this week to 10 years to life in prison, having pleaded guilty in June to second-degree murder.
According to Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr., Alonte Works fatally shot 31-year-old Jonathan Jones on Oct. 22 while in the parking lot of 50/50 Convenience Store on Fillmore Avenue.
Works who was 15-years-old at the time of the murder, was sentenced as a juvenile offender.
