DARIEN — Foul play is not suspected but a fatal construction accident this morning on Broadway Road is under investigation by New York State Police.
According to NYSP, Troopers responded to the accident around 5:30 a.m. where a pavement roller being driven on a flatbed trailer fell off the trailer, pinning 40-year-old Aaron L. Wellman, who was operating the roller at the time. Wellman was unresponsive at the scene and transported to a near by hospital were he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy is being done to determine the cause of death.
