GOWANDA — A 35-year-old Collins man was charged early Tuesday with criminal trespassing and attempted petit larceny after the Erie County Sheriff’s Office says he was seen going through a woman’s car and found with another person’s laptop.

Sheriff’s Tim Howard says Jeremy Thompson was found by a Gowanda Police Officer after a complaint from a Taylor Hallow Road woman that she had seen him enter her vehicle.

An ECSO deputy joined the Gowanda officer at the scene, where Thompson was reportedly found with a laptop, which was returned to another person who declined to press charges.

Thompson was processed and released on appearance tickets for Collins Town Court.
