FRIENDSHIP — A 31-year-old Friendship man was charged Tuesday afternoon with false impersonation, accused of giving police a false name and date of birth.

According to New York State Police, Troopers arrived at a Maple Grove Road home around 3:20 p.m. for a report of two men fighting. During the interview, Troopers recognized a man from a traffic stop earlier in the month. That man, Michael Dostman, had given patrol his brother’s name and date of birth at the traffic stop, police say.

Dostman was then arrested and processed at SP Amity, arraigned in the Town of Cuba Court and released on his own recognizance. He is to reappear in the Town of Cuba Court later this month.
