The All WNY News & Radio app for Android is now available for download in the Google Play Store.
While the app has been available since the April 1 launch of All WNY News, until now it had to be “sideloaded” or downloaded and executed from an .APK file, requiring users to disable a security feature to do so. With its inclusion in the Google Play Store, all one has to do is search for “All WNY” in Google Play and click on the headphone logo, then “install.” (or click here)
The app offers easy access to the All WNY News news feed, as well as feeds for All WNY Awards, All WNY Deals, All WNY Photos, the All WNY Radio live stream, the podcast archive and links to our social media accounts. It also offers push notifications for news alerts, which we promise to use sparingly.
Current users do not need to upgrade, as the version now available in the Google Play Store has not changed. However, the apps inclusion in the Google Play Store will make it easier for users to update to a new version when one is released.
For our friends who use iOS devices, fear not; an app is coming for you as well.
