AMHERST — A 35-year-old Pennsylvania man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on the 290.

According to New York State Police, Jeremy Safford was pulled over for speeding and found to be intoxicated. He provided a breath sample showing a .17 percent blood alcohol content.

After being given an appearance ticket to Amherst Town Court, he was turned over to Cheektowaga Police on an outstanding warrant.
