LOCKPORT — Some Lockport residents who were made to evacuate their homes Wednesday night on account of the fire at Ohio and Stevens streets are being allowed to return to their homes.

The Lockport Fire Department says that resident of West Avenue, Ohio and South New York streets can return to their residences immediately.

Residents of Webb, South Bristol, Bacon, Sunnyside, Windsor, Prospect and Stevens streets are asked to find shelter for the night. The evacuation order on those homes remains in effect due to the wind direction and smoke for the still-smoldering fire.

Shelters are open once again at North Park, the Salvation Army and South Lockport Fire Hall.

No further updates are available in regards to the fire.
