Russell W. Nye passed away July 25, 2016 in Buffalo General Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls on October 18, 1930 he was the son of Oliver and Roberta (Riddler) Nye. Russell worked for Wendts Dairy, Rebco Steel in Niagara Falls and retired from Lockport Trucking. He was also a member of the Cambria Volunteer Fire Company where he was the past chief and the Teamster 375 and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, model trains, and fishing.
Russel is survived by his sons Daniel (Linda) of Lockport, Richard (Candace) of Lockport, Russell (Cathy) of Cambria, William (Connie) of Lockport, Joseph (Dawn) of Cambria, and Patrick (Amy) Nye of Sanborn; grandfather of twenty-three; great grandfather of twenty-four; brother of Roger (Shirley) of Grand Island, Ruthie Nye of North Tonawanda, late Robert and Richard Nye; several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, July 27th from 4-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where services will be held Thursday, July 28th at 10 AM. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. Donations to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or to a charity of one’s choice.
